Galapagos Art Space, which once sat on north 6th Street in Williamsburg Brooklyn was a dope place to see collaborations and cyphers of all shapes and sizes. Take this night for instance. M. Sayyid and DJ Raedawn playing off the cuff- like mad wizards weaving spells with sound. At the beginning you'll see sayyid seems to be wrestling a bit with the sound man and perhaps a little frustration with something, but then Raedawn and him turn it around with some exotic beat never heard before with human ears. Enjoy! You may also like this one from the same night.
Dynamic Duo M.Sayyid and High Priest of Antipop Consortium perform as Airborn Audio in this explosive show at Joes Pub in September of 2005. I wasn't supposed to have my camera in the joint that night, so at times i kinda had to hide it-hence the night vision. One of the best shows ever!
Truly one of the best shows I have ever been to. Airborn Audio is M. Sayyid and High Prizm of Antipop Consortium and on this snowy night in September, I met these guys and we became lifelong friends. You'll notice that at times i had to hide the camera because I wasn't suppose to have one inside Joe's Pub-hence the nightvision. These guys truly are ahead of the game-weaving poetry and art into a thunderous sound that could only come from the Future! If you like this rare footage as much as I do then you'll love these other videos taken from that night Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
If you liked the rare footage of Beans performing "Thundermouth," you'll love this video from 2006 when I ran into him at a cameo performance in a Brooklyn Loft party-DJ Liondub on the ones and twos. I rode my electric scooter all the way from Greenpoint to Bushwick that night listening to some old Anti-Pop Consortium through my headphones and upon entering the loft I heard "Blind Driver" playing and thought it was in my ears. To my surprise it was Beans himself ripping up the mic as you see. That was a great night!
When Anti-Pop Consortium got back together, a buddy and I were fortunate enough to catch both shows at the Knitting Factory in Manhattan. It was this night that the world got a taste of "Apparently," played for first time in Manhattan by Anti-Pop Consortium Reunited Knitting Factory NYC, as seen in this video
